well, that was easier than i thought it would be.

at the moment there is nothing so lovely as a painted garage. it is finally done, thank heaven. it really could use another coat, but i'll be damned if i'm going to paint the entire thing again. it makes for much brighter ping-pong playing too, which is nice.

i finally got to sewing for myself, especially since i had cut out this dress last weekend and then did nothing with it. i got to thinking i had better get it sewn, because pretty soon i won't be able to wear it. even though it is linen, i'm hoping the color can take me into fall, especially with a cute cardigan and some tights:

it is simplicity #0508 and it took me all of about two hours to complete, not including hang time nor the time i spent beading the neckline. i like bias dresses, but i'm just not sure about this one. it seems kind of shapeless, on the sewing body and on me as well. maybe it will be so comfy that i won't care. i think it would be cuter belted, but i don't have a great belt that i would love with it, so i think i'm going to opt for the cardigan-buttoned-across-the-waist look instead.

into fall if it gets colder, wear it with a thin long-sleeved shirt, or turtleneck underneath, maybe in a chocolate brown, and tights or boots.

even sundresses are not just for summer these days.

and yeah get yourself a belt to be worn at the natural waist, but shapeless i think it would still be very cute.

it was actually quite comfortable yesterday with no belt, and when the a/c was too cold and i put my cardigan on, it was super-cute.

Dude! Totally cute! Have you heard of a show on TLC called "who are you wearing?" Well i think you'd be great on it! It's a design show where you compete with 3 other people to design a dress for a celebrity :) Just a thought...
